Expired I Film Photography Edition 1

8.90 inc VAT

Some photographers seek out the unique aesthetic effects expired film can offer. Over time, the film’s emulsion degrades, leading to unpredictable colour shifts, increased grain, and a dreamier, more vintage feel to the final images. This unpredictable nature can be part of the appeal, creating one-of-a-kind results. Some photographers enjoy the novelty of shooting a film that is older than themselves and for others it a chance to shoot a film stock that is no longer manufactured.

When we saw the opportunity to stock Lucky Color 100 (Expired 2006) and Seagull IR100  Colour Film (Expired 1990) it was a chance to offer something unique and allow the little boxes of film to fulfil their destiny. To our great delight it was embraced by our friends, customers and the wider analogue community. On a weekly basis we would get tagged in images that people were truly delighted by, possibly this is because they had low expectations or perhaps it tapped into a need for greater creative freedom.

This our first Zine showcases some of the images sent to us and we are delighted to share them, we chose to highlight these two expired film stocks in our first edition because the enthusiasm shown by people for this harebrained idea inspired and emboldened us to move out of our own comfort zone as a business and take some more risks.
